Getting started

How do I sign up?

Download Gereh from the App Store or Google Play. You'll sign in with your phone number and a one-time SMS code, then set up your profile: name, date of birth, gender, who you're interested in, location, and photos.

Do I need to verify my photo?

Yes. Photo verification helps keep Gereh authentic and protects everyone from catfishing. You'll be asked to take a selfie that our system matches against your profile photos.

What are the main things I can do in the app?

Five tabs: Activities (assessments, lessons, solo games), Discover (browse and match), Chats (messaging and in-chat games), League (tiers and weekly rewards), and Profile (your photos, prompts, audio, and settings).

Assessments

What's a Vibe Profile?

Your Vibe Profile is a personality snapshot based on the Big Five model (openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism) plus autonomy. It uses the IPIP-NEO-60, a validated public-domain personality inventory used in academic research. You answer up to 10 questions a day, and once complete you get a portrait like Quiet Fire or Open Road that describes how you show up in relationships.

What's the Attachment Style quiz?

A 12-question assessment based on the ECR-S (Experiences in Close Relationships — Short Form), a standard tool used in attachment research. It places you into one of four styles: Open-Hearted, Deep Feeler, Independent, or Guarded Romantic. Attachment styles aren't labels — they're a starting point for understanding how you connect.

How are assessments used?

Two ways. First, they help you understand yourself. Second, they power in-chat games like Vibe Compare and Connection Compare, which let you and a match see where you align and where you complement each other.

Can I retake an assessment?

Yes. Go to Settings → Reset assessment. People change over time, so retaking every few months is welcome.

Is my assessment data private?

Your results are yours. You can optionally contribute anonymized data to our research on personality and relationships — this is opt-in only, and contributions are irreversibly anonymized before storage. You can toggle research consent separately for each assessment under Settings.

Matching and Discover

How does matching work?

Open Discover, browse profiles, and tap like or pass. When two people like each other, you're matched and can start a conversation. You can filter Discover by age, distance, height, ethnicity, education, religion, relationship goals, and lifestyle preferences.

What's a Love Potion?

Love Potions are a way to stand out — send one with your like to show a profile you're genuinely interested. Think of it as a signal that this isn't a casual swipe.

Can I see who liked me?

Yes — See Likes is a premium feature you can unlock with coins. It reveals everyone who's already liked your profile so you can match instantly.

Games and League

What are in-chat games?

Games you can play inside any chat to break the ice and learn about each other. Current games:

• Know Me? — Quiz each other on profile details.
• Spark — A word guessing game where you decode a hidden word letter by letter.
• Or — Vote on fun "would you rather" dilemmas.
• Vibe Compare — See how your Big Five profiles align.
• Connection Compare — Compare attachment styles and see how they pair.

What's the League tab?

League is Gereh's progress and competitive system. You earn Fun Points by playing games, completing your profile, and staying active. Points move you up through tiers, and every week the top players in your group earn rewards.

Coins and premium

What are coins used for?

Coins are Gereh's in-app currency. You spend them on premium features like See Likes, profile boosts, and advanced filters. You can buy coins through the App Store or Google Play, or earn small amounts by completing your profile and staying active.

How do I cancel a subscription or get a refund?

Coin purchases are one-time, not subscriptions — they don't auto-renew. If you have an issue with a purchase, manage it through your App Store or Google Play account. On iOS, go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. On Android, go to Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.

Safety

How do I report or block someone?

Open the user's profile or chat, tap the menu, and choose Report or Block. Blocking hides them from you completely and they won't be able to see you either. Every report is reviewed by our safety team. For urgent concerns, email support@gereh.ca.

How do you keep Gereh safe?

We require phone verification at signup, photo verification on profiles, and a minimum age of 18. We review reports, remove users who violate our Community Guidelines, and have zero tolerance for harassment, CSAE, or predatory behavior. Read our Child Safety Policy for details.

Account and privacy

Can I pause my account instead of deleting it?

Yes. Go to Settings → Pause account. Your profile is hidden from Discover but your matches, chats, and data are preserved. Unpause anytime.

How do I delete my account?

Open the app, go to Settings → Delete account, and follow the prompts. If you've already uninstalled, you can request deletion from our website instead.

How do I download my data?

In the app, go to Settings → Download my data. You'll need a verified email on your account. You'll receive a download link by email within 48 hours; the link stays active for 48 hours after delivery.

I'm locked out of my account.

Try signing in again with the same phone number you used to sign up. If you still can't access your account, email support@gereh.ca with the phone number linked to your account and we'll help you recover it.

I found a bug or something isn't working.

Email support@gereh.ca with a short description of what happened, your device (iPhone or Android), and a screenshot if you have one. It helps us fix things faster.
